I don't think PJT brand will be discredited by the HH just because it's new and located in SF, considering Moelis Houston exits also included NYC UMMs, as well as energy/infra NYC MF or even MDP in CHI. Sure Moelis LA is very strong (one of the best WC offices), I didn't click with them while recruiting and ended up applying to other location; people seemed fine but not the type of people that I would imagine myself enjoy working with. If your dead set on PE, Moelis LA is the way to go, otherwise PJT should be fine.
