Moelis SF (tech) info + exit ops?

Haven't heard much about this group recently. They made the move from menlo to SF and added more people. Also advised on the recent broadcom hostile takeover. Does anyone have info about this group and about the exit ops?

Although I came from BB in NYC. I currently work for a Upper MM (~16 Bn ) Tech PE in the bay area, and can provide some color-

They have been doing pretty good as of late in terms of tech deals with few billion+ deals in the last 3-4 years. The guys I met while working on transactions were pretty laid back, but super sharp. Heard most of the senior people are from BB who were rain makers there and brought their clients over for more $$. Heard culture is pretty good unlike the NY office...

Don't have too much info on the exits per SF analyst class. However, I was surprised to see that during associate recruiting they were put in the same tier as the Moelis-LA office since two offices pretty much work in conjunction as "the West Coast team" in deals related to Tech. Think you will have interviews at most of MF/Upper MM funds on the westcoast and some eastcoast. Heard Moelis NYC doesn't place as well these days compare to the Westcoast offices so I would definitely pick this location if you had a choice.

PJT and Evercore are great in the tech space, but if I have to compare just for Westcoast offices in terms of Exit opps and Learning opportunities, Moelis is definitely the best among the 3 due to number of Moelis alumni in MF PE and top HF in LA/SF... [Moelis>Evercore>PJT]

If you were talking about NYC, its very different story- I would put Evercore M&A > PJT Rx > Moelis > PJT M&A > Evercore Rx

Pay is same. Culture is better. Dealflow will still crush you. Heard expanding due to deal volume..

Exits on par with Moelis LA/GS tmt/MS tech/Qatalyst if you are aiming for top tier Tech Funds/HF on the Westcoast. Do not think they place well on the Eastcoast...could be wrong
