Most active / prestigious Power and Utilities (P&U) IBD groups in London

Hi All,

Just wanted to get a perspective of what is the actual (2021) Power and Utilities IBD picture in London, and overall, in EMEA. Currently very interested in these verticals and would like to know more for my future prospects:

1. What are the top players / most dealflow recently (as of 2020 and part of 2021)? Maybe there is a place to look for specific league tables towards P&U, or just general readings, news, etc

2. What is the subjective view on prestige towards the different P&U IBD teams on the street? I imagine doing some LinkedIn search on past exits of these groups is a great indication of what the market believes

3. Any materials (books, internet PDFs...) that are worth to read to try to understand all the trends behind P&U?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help. This forum has always been a great place to enhance knowledge, and I extremely appreciate it!

Can't provide any official rankings but know the space pretty well and will provide a couple of thoughts.

Will happily be corrected by anyone more in the know than me.

Of the "big 3" BBs believe that JPM consistently does well in EMEA.

Other BBs that I often hear good things about are Citi, Barclays, and BofA.

Strongest independent advisories in the space are historically Rothschild and Lazard with Jefferies growing quite rapidly in recent years but not really in the same league right now (let's see where it is in a few years).

Don't really want to rank them but if I were specifically looking to break into the EMEA P&U space right now these are the names I would be looking to network with (would generally prioritise the other 6 above Jefferies for now).
