Most Important Factor When Choosing FT Offer

Not to make another rankings thread, but just wanted to gauge the general consensus on what the most important factor is when choosing a FT offer, ceteris paribus:

  • prestige of bank
  • strength of group
  • geographic location
  • firm culture
  • base salary/bonus figures

Note: some of these probably overlap and I left out "exit opps" because like one wise member on this board has said you make your own exit opportunities.

-exit opps -location -culture -salary

prestige/strength/deal-flow of group etc. are what make your exit opps. You only "make" your exit opps to the extent of your ranking within your group and how well you interview. This is not S&T where people can actually transparently judge your abilities.

"making your own exit opps" only applies to the top 1% of the population that is actually exceptionally talented enough and driven enough to do exceptional things that make their exit opps; when in doubt, assume you are not one of them.
