Move from Capital markets to Equity Research

Recently joined CM as an intern and I'm not enjoying it. I feel you aren't learning much about businesses and its way more project mgt. I enjoy the markets element but would like to learn more about businesses on an intrinsic level so feel ER would be the best move. Do you think this is the right idea? If so, how would I sell it?
