Moving fron the backend to FO

I've worked for the last 2 years as a backend analyst for a BB and have received great feedback always. and we have a FO internship program in NY / London office for whoever does well in the backend firm and I'm already told that I would be the front runner in my team for the internship whenever the opportunity arises. however, its been 1.5 years since I've been told that and still haven't managed to break in.

now I'm trying to go to market myself but unable to convert the interview rounds at IB FO In India because of being in my current dead end backend job

please help. thank you!
