moving up from an analyst position?
this is sorta a general question. But assuming you have done 2/3 years as an analyst. go back to get your mba and look for a position as an associate. what percent of people get the job. 25%? lower? What happens to the people who don't? do you have a chance at an associate position if you don't get to a feeder school? this is an averages questions.
assuming you go to a reputable IB shop, you will have no problem landing a good associate gig because most banks prefer people with prior banking exp (for example, if you went to stifle for analyst, got MBA from somewhere like booth or some good/decent MBA school, you will have no trouble landing a gig at a good/decent shop as an associate).
The real question is, why would you want to go back to banking???????? especially after 3 years where you can easily be promoted A to A????
i ve seen sponsored guys go back at the vp level
