MS GCM vs GS Financing
What do you guys think of these 2 groups, in terms of exit opps, culture or anything else that comes to mind? For GS financing I had the Corporate Derivatives group in mind - any thoughts?

Career Resources
They're pretty much the same. This is like asking which investment banking division is better. You just have to decide which brand name you want.
Keep in mind, though, that GS's financing groups are still technically under the IBD umbrella. This may make mobility to traditional (Classic) IBD easier if you ultimately decide that you want to make that leap.
Also keep in mind that the exit ops from both are limited since you're generally going to be placed in capital markets groups. I would say that people generally join these groups with more of an intention of becoming career bankers. F500 corpdev is probably more commonly pursued than PE out of these.
I would pick MS GCM as it includes LevFin, I guess you can move to M&A or an Industry group easily from both groups.
GS Financing also includes LevFin.
So he can just pick what he likes the most.
