MS M&A or GS FIG/Industrials/Consumer Retail

Diversity student from non-target with an offer from GS FIG and offer from MS IBD. Assuming I get M&A (yes, I know this is a big assumption), how would you evaluate these choices over the several criteria

Exits, reputation, technical experience, work life balance, culture, deal flow, interesting work

It depends what you are looking for. If you are looking for the best culture the list will probably look like this: 1. GS Consumer, 2. GS FIG, 3. MS M&A, 4. GS Industrials. If you are looking for the best exits it would look like this: 1. MS M&A, 2. GS Industrials, 3. GS FIG, 4. GS Consumer. If you are looking for the most stable position in prospect of a long term banking career the list will probably look like this: 1. GS Consumer, 2. GS FIG, 3. GS Industrials, 4. MS M&A

Taking MS as a non target assuming you’re going to place well is retarded. More often than not, non targets get shafted in group placements
