MUFG UK

How is MUFG's reputation in the UK? Do they have a huge operation here? How are their IBD division and their S&T division respectively?

On a separate note, does anyone know anything about Mizuho UK too?

Not totally true.

MUFG is known about project finance, but have made great effort on diversifying into other financing transactions (most notably event-driven/M&A financings, incl. financing in a lead underwriter role for the Takeda / Shire acquisition, for those of you in UK or in pharma).

Don't forget that MUFG is the largest shareholder of MS, and the two often partner on deals / engage in deal referral where MS would advise on M&A and MUFG underwrite financings.

True that MUFG doesn't have the same level of M&A advisory business or setup as the traditional IB banks, you still get decent exposure to M&A by working on the financing side, especially when the bank is in the lead underwriter position.
