Name Mistakes in Interviews
Second round interview...
So I had a bunch of interviews with folks at the bank and I'm collecting all the business cards along the way in my portfolio. Another interview happens and "Jim" (who I haven't met before) gives me his business card too, chats with me. Thing seem to be going well and we talk a long time, and inquires about who else I've met that day. I rattle off a few, scan the stack of business cards for any I've missed and I say "Jim" -> who I was sure was the senior guy before me because of the placement of the business cards (I had an order which I apparently didn't follow very well).
So Jim plays along and is like "Oh, you met with Jim already?" and I say "Yeah, I think he was just in here before you". Conversation moves on, and interview wraps up.
I realized only after the fact that I made the mistake.
Other than this fuck-up I thought the interviews with these folks and everyone else in the bank went pretty good - some extremely well. Am I screwed?
Just email and apologize?
No - don't do this. Just leave it.
If Jim is a jerk-off then you might be screwed. I can't imagine then nixing you because of that.
I'm sure you will be fine, might just get heckled by Jim if he remember it or some bullshit like that.
What was his position there?
Someday you will look back and find this funny. I doubt this would cost you the job by the way.
Jim was just messing with you. He and his buddies are no doubt getting a good chuckle out of it. Don't worry.
