NatWest Financing Solutions - Commercial Banking ???????
I came across this Graduate position from NatWest, and it says it's commercial banking ???? I don't understand why?:
"In Financing Solutions our goal is to provide debt financing, risk solutions and first-class advisory services for UK and European corporate and private equity clients. We cover a broad range of specialisms, including acquisition financing, specialist asset-backed financing, leveraged buyouts, infrastructure financing and project finance for greenfield renewable energy projects. Our advisory services work closely in collaboration with all teams across the business area to offer their expertise on credit ratings and sustainable finance."
All of this sounds like Investment Banking. When I did my internship within Securitization, the team sat in Global Markets (previously Capital Markets), but at NatWest it says Commercial Banking? .... The salary is £55k as well, which as far as I know, is far above commbanking salaries?
Anyone know anything about this?
bump
The financing solution program covers all corporate debt banking
The markets program is S&T and quant
These would indeed fall under an IB/capital markets label in other banks, but following RBS’ rebranding into NatWest these activities were either categorized as part of commercial banking or put into their NatWest Markets entity
It can indeed be a bit misleading but this is just an organizational matter, the activities you listed are the same as in any other bank
