Navigating Potential Conflicts of Interest as a SA

I secured my SA offer at a BB a few months ago and have just been told that I'll be in the real estate coverage group, which I put as my third preference (didn't think about this potential issue until I was assigned my group).

The issue is that I currently work/intern at a very prominent REIT in the region, and am planning to continue working there after my SA stint as I've gotten leave approved, and have not quit. In theory, I'd  be helping advise direct competitors of a company that I'm still employed by, so I'm not quite sure what to do?

The BB I'll be commencing at certainly knew of this on my resume and I never implied I'd be permanently quitting. Should I just keep quiet about which group I was assigned? - the REIT probably would have no way of knowing I'm interning in the real estate coverage group, and I'm not sure how much the bank would care? I don't want to be pissing off the bank by potentially shifting around teams 2 weeks before starting.

Any advice would be appreciated, I imagine this is relevant for anyone who isn't permanently quitting their job for their SA stint and may be concurrently employed by a sponsor/company in their coverage group.

Thanks.
