NEED HELP RESEARCHING FIRMS..any killer databases etc.
I'm trying to find a streamlined way to research the MM and BB I-banks. The Vault guides are obviously too fluffy. I want to know how their structures, what's their strengths / weaknesses, recent deals they've done, products they dont offer....etc.
Does anyone know a consolidated source of information...even if I have to subscribe to a service. I've check Vault, ABI Global, Thomson, SP Netadvantage...and its just mind boggling plus not that in depth. Any advice is appreciated.

no killer databases - Best way to get this info is to ask and start aggregating data yourself.
What do you think an analyst does at an investment bank? An analyst aggregates and analyzes hard to find data. Despite the existence of (mediocre) databases such as capIQ, factset, bloomberg, etc, the analyst finds and vets the numbers. If there was a non-mindboggling database of financial info - deals done, premiums paid... then there wouldn't be a jr. banker role.

hee hee... y is everyone always looking for a short cut. tth 7 there is no magic black book. you best bet call up alumni who work at that firm or pm people on this site. it scare me on how much useful information is being shared on this site.
