Need Help With A Financial Ratios Project

Hi,

So basically, I have been given the assignment of analyzing various auto companies and evaluating them based on various financial ratios. Unfortunately, I'm still very new with some of this stuff, so I was wondering if you guys can help me out, particularly in designing a template and how you would go about doing it. I thought that basically what I can do is just upload the balance sheet, income statement on one sheet sheet, and then, using the numbers from the financials use those cells to show ratios across a few years, add graphs, etc. This, however, seems very simplistic and uninspired, so I was wondering if you guys can think of any other things I can add. Although this is a small project and doesn't need to be super elaborate, I definitely want to do more than just the minimum, so if you can help me think of a few small things to add to the template and all, that would be great.

Thanks
