Network my way into small boutique or MBA

Currently a first year auditor but quickly realized this is not what I want to do. Quite frankly, I can't get out fast enough. Would it be a productive use of my time to spend this summer networking my ass off in hopes of breaking into a small boutique or would I be better off sticking out audit for a couple years then praying I get into a solid MBA program -> BB/MM?
