Networking as a Duo

I've done internships in IB and PE, and I'm going to end up in either field once I graduate in a year. My best friend started his own manufacturing company (keeping it general) 3 years ago. He's on track to break $500,000 next year.

What are your thoughts on my friend and I networking with people together? I usually go for coffee chats or phone calls now with people in finance and he does the same with people in his business. I feel like were a perfect combination i.e. entrepreneur and IB/PE together to speak with other entrepreneurs and bankers / private equity investors together. The goal is just to expand our network in both horizons and make professional friends. I also feel like this is much more fun to do as 20 year old's together.

If you were on the receiving end of this networking request, what would you think? Ideally we would be reaching out to more seniors (associates + and company executives).

Are you just looking to make friends or actually have an end game here? If you want to meet other 20 year olds, somewhat odd way to reach them but fine.

I don't think many people, especially executives, will want to randomly hop on the phone or grab coffee with two 20 year olds with no clear reason why. If you're recruiting for SA they at least have a reason to meet with you, but without a real reason I don't know how many responses you will get.
