Networking during Placement Process

Currently undergoing placement process for SA (Have offer, this is group placement), unsure how to approach coffee chats.

How professional do I be? After the basic introductions + chat about the group, do I stick to purely finance questions?

When people r like "introduce yourself" do you stick to going over resume, or do you talk about "yeh love going out on Fridays and playing basketball"

Ppl on here often mention things like "talk about sports", and Im a huge sports guy, but I have never managed to turn one of these conversations in that direction.

It always inevitably goes Intro, Intro, Talk about group, I ask questions about group, they answer. Pleasure, bye-bye.

Im a pretty social dude, but for some reason during zoom interviews I feel like I give off hardo/geek vibes.

I had issues with this as well but it was just having reps under your belt and knowing when to shift the conversation that way. u gotta step out of your comfort zone a bit. read the room of course, but ppl are usually happy to talk about their hobbies
