Networking for MBA

Hi all,

I am currently a first year MBA candidate targeting MM IB and I am beginning to ramp up my networking efforts. I come from an Asset Management background looking to make a transition to IB. Many of the firms I am targeting have UG alumni currently in the analyst programs. I was hoping you guys could give some prospective on how much networking with analysts will help when looking for associate positions. Is it worth getting in touch to try and network my way through the ranks within the companies?

Appreciate any advice on reaching out to analysts as an MBA candidate.
