networking mistake
rising soph here. few months back, I was talking to a senior going to a top boutique (she's one of the two analysts there from my school). called her, ok convo, and texted her a few weeks later to ask some q's. I went back on the convo today and was mortified to see that my follow up text had some very obvious grammar errors (like "I wanting ..." instead of "I want..."). we're not buddies so it was a professional conversation and she still responded but now I'm wondering if this will cook me
This is basics of IB…triple check everything. They used to recommend we print everything for review before sending.
if you are the type of person to type out a response, reread it, and then make edits before sending. You are prone to these types of grammar mistakes and really need to slowly read important emails/texts before you press send.
I noticed it typing on WSO. I’m basically training myself to slow down now when typing, and then reread it again before pressing send
Yes, sometimes seeing it in a different format to catch mistakes is why we used to pre-print everything.
You have to check everything over multiple times. I remember I made a typo once when networking with someone from a solid boutique shop and they called it out during my “professional convo” with them. Unfortunately the chat went super mid but I learned my mistake that day. Just make sure you re-read everything like 5 times at least.
