Its a numbers game. Just keep at it and get as many as possible, and eventually you will have a bunch that you know on a more "personal" level than others.
Any suggestions on what to say/how to structure follow ups though? A lot of my conversations are them giving me advice and asking me questions to see if i'm "legit." But I rarely talk to them about something I can follow up about, other than positioning myself for recruitment.
