Networking tips

Hi guys, hope everyone is doing well! Was wondering if anyone had good networking tips besides being genuine and asking just general background, career path, what do you like about this bank type of questions? I always hear different approaches to networking. Some people say it's good to ask smart questions possibly on deals or anything that can only be specifically asked to that banker, while others genuinely just had a good personable conversation with lots of follow-ups, without trying to show that they're smart or are trying "too hard". Wanna know what has been successful for you guys and good tips that aren't generic. I am currently recruiting for SA 27, so anything would be greatly appreciated!
