New Analyst switching offices after a year
I got hired for my first job out of school at the west coast office and moved out of NYC. I really want to move back and ask about switching back to the ny office. How bad is it to wait a year and ask to transfer back to the east coast office? I know this is done internally a lot, but the specific people I know that have transferred did it after 2-3 years. Whats the best timeline/wait time and way to go about doing this. Thanks.
Also interested in the opposite way: east coast to west coast?
Curious as to why you would want to move from east coast to west coast. Do you have family there or just like the west coast better?
I'm originally from the west coast and yea, I have family there. I really wanted to work at this company and I have really solid personal connections in the west coast office and they had an opening there (and didn't on the east coast) so it just worked out that way.
Don't know so much about the US trends, but under 1.5-2 years it looks like an internship.
