New to IB, any advice

Hey WSO, I’m new to the world of investment banking and was hoping you guys might impart a little bit of your knowledge to me. I’m currently a first year at a non-target school and had a couple of questions. Coming from a non-target school, what do you guys think is the best way to get a leg up on the competition and stand out? My school is fairly limited as far as IB resources go but I want to make the most out what time I have now. Also, following from that, what are some resources (books, websites, etc.) that you would recommend I check out to get a little more well-versed with the world of IB?

Mergers and Inquisitions (aka Breaking into Wall Street) has a lot of longer-form articles and interviews that are a more structured introduction to banking than might be available on this site. Rosenbaum and Pearl is still the gold standard for basic training and all you really need alongside the 400 questions or whatever that are the standard technical and behavioral interview questions.

Then once you have some targeted questions this site works much better.

Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes.
