Next Step for Networking

Okay, so don't grill me for not searching because I did and there isn't much on follow ups after a phone conversation with alumni. I did the usual 15 minute introduction conversation, and recruiting is still over a month away. I sent emails saying thank you for your time after we spoke.

What would be the next appropriate step? Just wait till recruiting to reach out again, or try and make contact again before that?

Thanks

Do you wanna be grilled with BBQ or Ketchup?

It goes like this:

1) Email 2) 15 min convo 3) Ask to marry his daughter

It's always a good idea to keep in touch. Send an email in 2-3 weeks.

Keep in touch periodically. If the guy was really helpful try talking to him every month, with other guys I'd do two months. Some people are willing to help you and some aren't, it's a numbers game.

A good way to keep in contact would be to send them a congratulatory e-mail when they act as an advisor on a deal that closed. Keeps you up-to-date on what's happening with the firm and the industry and gives you an excuse to keep in touch too.
