Night Janitor at GS or MS?

Haven't got a response the past few times I've made a topic so figured I'd write something retarded.

Anyways, wondering if anyone has had experience moving from S&T to IBD. I'm only in my role at a BB because I couldn't snag anything else, but I wanted to do M&A. I'm finding it easier to speak with smaller IB firms since I don't have any formal IB experience, but I'm afraid of the "no-name" curse a firm like that can bring on.

If you were in my spot, would you...

1. Take a spot at a smaller firm to learn more and be able to lateral over quicker? All in the hopes of moving on to a bigger firm later on?

OR

2. Wait around until l can break into another BB or network within my own for a spot?

There's obvious advantages and disadvantages of either situation, but was wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and can help.
