Was in NYC last week and a director from nomura IB met with a group of students. He said they have given out 8 offers so far. 2 from each of these schools: NYU, Columbia, Penn, and BYU.

I don't recall if that was just his group or from all NYC groups.

If you work for Nomura you hate America.

^hahah

I have a buddy working as a trader at Nomura and he says it's all Lehman guys and they really actually love it (he's also a lehman guy).... sounds like the traders have it pretty good over there.

obviously others have gotten offers who aren't from those schools, so the context must have been something other than what I thought. had a ton of meetings last week so the details are a little blurry, but I do specifically remember (because I was so surprised) him saying 8 offers, 2 from each of those schools.
