Nomura IBD Breaks into US League Tables

Any opinions on Nomura entering the US Announced M&A League Tables for 2010? Is this indicative of success of their concerted efforts to grow their US IBD operations? Any take on the group in 2011?

I know that Nomura IBD in the US made a lot of hires recently (their global markets expanded a lot last year but IBD was a bit later in the hiring game). They are focusing on 5 areas FIG, natural resources, tech and two others that escape me right now but their strategy is to go deep into specific areas rather than try to expand to all industries right off the bat. Cant really comment on how successful they have been though.
