Has anybody heard anything about the Nomura layoffs in London? Had a bunch of people from Nomura popping up who had been laid off. Daily connection requests from Juniors in London looking to network for roles.
Was it a layoff or was it standard bottom bucket churn? etc
I had heard rumours that EMEA TMT had been cut (10 members) and a bunch of other sectors at the analyst & associate level.
Appreciate any intel from Monkey Juniors.

Correct. It was a bloodbath pretty much, plenty of juniors but also up to MDs. Not at all a typical bottom bucket churn..

Any idea about layoffs in US groups?
Bottom 10%-ish across most teams, excluding a few outliers. Tech/Media and FIG were impacted more substantially, with Tech losing around half of the team. But it was a train wreck in any event, so not really surprising.
As an aside, they moved Telecoms and Digital Infra under Nomura Greentech a while back, so there is no TMT team at Nomura.
They laid off 50% of tech coverage team? That’s wild. Any insight on their m&a team?
