Non-NYC MM SA to NYC BB/EB for FT?

Hey, currently an SA at a MM IB in a “Tier 2” city. Really enjoy the people and the work but just don't like the city. Going to a graduate program next year so was wondering what the switch from this bank to a NYC bank for FT would look like? Anyone that has made a similar switch-insight/advice would be super appreciated.

Have had good reviews so far, but in the chance I don't get a return am I screwed for making the switch? Thanks in advance.
