Non-Target to Non-Finance Job to Back Office to IBD training to...?

What are my chances of going from back office (risk management) to IBD after going through the summer IBD training program?

To provide some context, I graduated from a non-target large public school with a liberal arts degree. After working a non-finance job for a few years I got a back office job at a large bank and was selected to go through the IBD summer training program, but have not been made aware of any plans to have me transfer after completing the program.

If I am unable to make an internal transfer, what are my chances of marketing my training to other banks - bulge or boutique?

I would appreciate honest feedback / advice.
