Non Target Uni Choices
I have offers to study Economics and Finance at University of Southampton and uni of York this September. I know they are well respected non targets, but unsure which one to chose as my firm choice.
Also, is it worth/possible studying at any of the above universities for first year and then transfer to LSE or Imperial?
Future career goal is IB at Jp or Goldman, etc.
Would appreciate your insights on this.
York places more people than Southampton.
No it's not worth transferring.
if you get better grades than u think u will (ie AAA or above) then maybe consider reapplying. ur much more likely to get offers at semi-targets/ targets next year with those grades. plus a gap year is fun. transferring is basically impossible to an LSE. york is better than southampton but still its an uphill battle to break in from there- its probably best if u really want to get into a bulge bracket investment bank is to reapply and get into atleast a bristol/notts/ bath/ durham/exeter at a push. maybe even niche courses at warwick or ucl
