Non US Markets

All things considered, what are critical desks that should anticipate growth throughout the upcoming years. EM Debt looks favorable as countries such as Greece are teetering on the fine line of "developed/developing." Along with the fact that countries will forever issue more debt.

That being said, the spreads on these desks for intl bonds exceeds similar US counterparts. As a direct result, competition is fierce and openings are few and far between (I sat on the EM FI Sales desk this week- which is looking to be my end goal).

Assuming the first step is to learn an economy outside the US what products/regions would you strive for.. Under the obvious assumption that F.X desks are forever reducing headcount what options are out there if you have a keen interest in LATAM/Turkey/Russia, or even more generally any non US marketplace?

Understand this probably doesn't belong in ibanking, just trying to get a thorough consensus.

Much obliged.
