Note to Self: Time to save more money

It seems as though there are some stormy clouds approaching, with lightening strikes observed at some banks in recent weeks.

The prospect of layoffs is not something that we've had to experience until very, very recently.

I'm thinking that now is a good time to curb some of my discretionary spending, while starting to save more.

Have you contemplated doing something similar? Any tips about how to do this with the least amount of hurt?
