that's why I dont understand. The whole process was so short compared to what I hear about here and I just want to know what I will be doing.

I saw the listing on the campus recruiting website a month ago. They gave me 3 phone interviews (explained to me about people having finals around this time and not wanting to travel so they are doing phones)... and then offered the job. My future boss says it's doing commodity trading with energy/oil related stuff.... whatever that means.

That's why I am wondering.

So my questions are: 1. I applied to a bank of america listing, why are they placing me in a seperate company?

  1. Is this a front office job? Will it pigeonhole me from IBD?

  2. Is it a good stepping stone for BB SA recruiting come junior year?

Dude really... for someone who is smart enough to get this internship you lack many skills.

  1. It's the same fucking company. It's ML now owned by Bofa
  2. Most likely is a FO job from what your "future boss" told you.
  3. errrrrr dude this is a BB SA position, so as for a stepping stone... this is the stone. Good luck dude, your going to need it.

I'm not sure why you're struggling with this. It is clearly a S&T role, I have no idea how you and so many others get jobs without knowing what they entail - I mean, what do you guys do when the interviewer asks if you have any questions? As for your questions:

1) You're retarded. Pick up a newspaper. 2) Impossible to say for certain without knowing more, but certainly sounds front-office. It will only pigeonhole you if you let it - sell it right and you'll be fine 3) Certainly. Excellent opportunity for a sophomore

  1. DUDE I KNOW THAT. but why is it Merill Lynch commodities Inc but not just Merill Lynch? Is it equivalent to industry groups in IBD in the sense that they split S&T into subgroups?
