Notre Dame Mendoza vs USC Marshall vs WashU Olin vs UC Berkeley Industrial Engineering & Operations Research
Rising freshman deciding between these four. Goal is BB/EB IB. Would appreciate any insight.
- UC Berkeley IEOR Biggest question mark. I wouldn't be in Haas, would I be at a serious disadvantage competing against Haas kids who have dedicated recruiting pipelines and the business school brand? Do banks even recruit from IEOR specifically, or would I need to hustle significantly more for the same opportunities?
- Notre Dame Mendoza Alumni network is tight-knit and finance recruiting culture seems strong.
- USC Marshall Strong West Coast alumni network but do they place in NY?
- WashU Olin Don't know much about recruiting wise.

for berkeley major doesn't matter as much if you join the right finance clubs/organizations and definitely better than the rest for west coast recruiting
mendoza might have a slight edge for east coast recruiting but its pretty close to berkeley
washu and usc shouldn't be considered here imo, significantly worse placements
I'm worried about the workload in Berkeley engineering, I hear Berkeley kids are quite cutthroat also.
Go Notre Dame and don’t look back. Insane Alumni loyalty and phenomenal school experience.
Notre Dame prob best chances. coming from someone attending one of the other 3.
