Nuances of banking recruiting at b-school

Hello all - have some questions related to banking recruiting while at b-school

I start at H/S/W in fall 2016 and have boutique consulting experience. Questions:

1) SF vs. NYC vs. London vs. Singapore associate recruiting... what are the pros and cons from a training perspective and long-term/exit strategies perspective? For example, if I do banking in NYC am I saying goodbye to a potential career in Singapore? If I go to SF is the training significantly different from NYC?

2) As banks look at candidates, I've heard of the whole social aspect, meeting bankers, etc. that runs from Sept til Jan when interviews actually start. Is this really an enormous piece of the pie?

3) Is there a hierarchy of teams across the industry from a difficulty to recruit perspective? For example, I'd imagine the TMT group at GS is most difficult to recruit for and therefore #1/#2, while maybe retail at a mid-market bank is towards the bottom? Would be interesting to see the more experienced banking associates on here trying to put together a top 10 ranking based on associate team's directional acceptance rates.

Couldn't find specifics on this but happy to look elsewhere if you can point me in the direction of where these topics were covered. Many thanks for the guidance.
