NYC Intern housing options--midtown near times square
Does anyone have any recommendations for summer intern housing near times square in midtown? Could potentially split rent with 1-6 other people i know looking for housing this coming summer. Would like to have a decent place, but minimizing cost is my first concern.
Hells Kitchen. I'm assuming you're going to be at MS or Barclays, but you do not need to be that close to your office. East village is by far the best.
+SB ... East Village IS the best
Those neighborhoods seemed like the best fit. Do you have any experiences with summer housing in the area? Looked at EHS Marymount but wondering if a sublet might be better. Seems like a bit of a hassle though...
I stayed in a renovated basement in the Bronx during my time in NYC. It took about an hour or so (maybe 1.5 hours) to get to Manhattan. I'd think carefully when you are choosing the location, more or so price point.
Campus housing is the easiest choice. There is 24/7 security, laundry downstairs, free gym, and kitchen with apartment units.
NYU is about 4K for 10 weeks (considering a roommate, more expensive w/o a roommate), and just a 12-minute train ride into times square. The campus housing is close to 8th ST station and Union Square so it is super easy to get around. Not the cleanest place to stay depending what apartment you are in, but it's a money saver. The entire 10 weeks rent is due before you move in.
New school housing is similar to NYU. Haven't heard too much about it.
.
I stayed at NYU and worked in Times Square. I took either 8th st station or union square, hopped on the yellow line and got off at "times square 42nd street." The stop right after takes you to 51st which is about a 4-minute walk where Evercore is located (just looked it up for reference). I would say NYU is the most convenient. Having summered in the city, I would recommend living near union square because it takes you both downtown and midtown in less than 15 minutes.
6 train is like 12-15 minutes. Doesn't really get more convenient
It is actually not too bad if you do Coral tower or Carlyle and take green line from union square to 51st street if I am not mistaken. Then it is literally just a block to Evercore
Still super convenient for Midtown East. ~15 minute commute on the 6 from Union Square. Highly recommend NYU based on location alone, accommodations leave a lot to be desired
Anyone know best place (also in midtown) but more near rockerfeller location?
PM me
Harlem / Uptown Manhattan is relatively affordable and the commute is not all that bad to midtown as long as you are on the west side
Any housing recommendations for someone working in FiDi? Summer housing in the area seems a little scarce.
