NYC Private Equity Recruiting from Chicago Office

Hey Guys, I am starting at a top Chicago EB as an analyst and was wondering what the NYC PE recruiting picture looked like for analysts in Chicago, especially in regards to mega funds. Is it possible to get into contact with NYC headhunters or is it impossible to land a spot coming from Chicago?

Any advice or experience would be great. Thanks!

All the major headhunters will make trips to Chicago to meet with the analysts there. If you're at a top BB (GS/MS especially) or EB with the appropriate pedigree (top undergrad, solid GPA and test scores) you'll have no problem getting traction with NYC megafunds. The tough part is scheduling logistics for interviews since it all happens so quickly - I would recommend flying to NYC immediately once you hear rumors that funds have started interviewing and making sure the headhunters know you're there in order to maximize your chances.
