Haha, stories like these make me feel better that I go to a non-target because there are dumb kids like this at targets.

CBSWannabethat guy was an mba candidate too....hm

Really smart people can get a 3.9, rock a 760 GMAT, and get into a top school. Doesn't mean they have social skills... (or that they'll do anything in life)

Just pick a class and go to it, it's not very difficult. And I don't really understand why he felt the need to explain himself if he wasn't going to take the class anyway. While this is just an anecdotal story, it highlights that book smarts do not always mean the person has "life" smarts. Plus, I bet this kid's mom told him he was one in a million and special while he was growing up.

But, the Prof, in my opinion, isn't really much better. Too many academics have a chip on their shoulder for some reason and constantly feel the need to prove how much better they are than everyone by making others feel small. Personally, if I was a Prof, and I hope to teach at a business school at some point in my life, I would not give a shit either way if an undergrad/MBA decides to not show up or show up late to my class.
