Obama on The Tonight Show

President Obama was was on The Tonight Show and stated that kids instead of becoming investment bankers become "engineers" and "teachers".

Does anyone think he has a personal vendetta out for ibankers or is it just the state of the economy that has him hating on the bankers?

If he, by he I mean Congress, is willing to unconstitutionally attack the bankers bonuses, does anyone think that he might target all banks and bankers, either capping salary, bonuses, and other compensation?

I fear for the worst for those trying to break into banking, including myself. Hope for the best. Pray for success.

Come on, don't hate on Obama, he's working hard to fix everything. I mean after the Tonight Show and filling out his NCAA bracket on ESPN, he's had a very busy week!!

I kid. I guess this doesn't bode well for the vetoing the bonus tax law, suggested from the other thread.

Not to act like I am smarter than anybody here...but I have experienced one thing first hand that I am pretty sure none of you guys have and that is COMMUNISM...trust me when I tell you, without the least bit of prejudice...this guy is a TEXTBOOM commie ideologue...you have seen ABSOLUTELY NOTHING yet...be afraid...no jokes here...sorry.

This is nothing close to communism and anyone who says it is is an idiot.

He is of course pandering to the public outrage at Wall Street bonuses, but these are indeed historic times. Public outrage will calm down in the future, people just need to relax.

I saw a quick clip when I got home last night, and he really didn't seem to be pleased with the House bill taxing the bonuses... sounds like he realizes it's likely not constitutional

A lot of bankers who were adding a phony value to the economy lost their jobs and Obama, the community organizer who didn't add a phony value to the economy , is the most powerful man on earth.

Obama hasn't been a community organizer for decades. And community organizers hardly add a massive amount of value to the economy.

Seriously though, if you think finance doesn't add value go off and become a carpenter. I'm sure some vocational school would be glad to have you

GoodBreadBtw, did anybody catch the special olympics comment? The man's a genius.

Hahaha yep I was just going to point that out. I got a good laugh from that. I'm sure he was thinking "oh shit" as soon as he said that.

GoodBreadPresident of Harvard Law Review isn't prestigious? Who are you?

You could have just defaulted to "President of the United States isn't prestigious?" or "United States Senator isn't prestigious?" As for whether or not being president of the Harvard Law Review is prestigious, that depends on one's opinion of Law School. All the same, Obama's conduct on the campaign and now in the Oval Office has rendered him the least prestigious president of all time for ever and ever.
