Obama's banking reforms.. will they affect us?
Hello there everyone, good day.
I'm interested in getting into investment banking, however, I am worried about Obama's planned reforms. What would happen to IB sector if by chance they are passed? Would there be any drastic changes in job outlook / pay?
Please enlighten me also with a more in-depth explanation as I feel that I'm in the dark. Is it really that bad? It doesn't seem that there's a big ruckus coming from people.
Thanks.
Don't worry if your a junior person in IB...your comp is a drop in the bucket vs the senior guys
Prop trading may get affected, but the IB side should be ok...too early to tell if anything will get done
you'll basically see a total implosion and double dip depression, so yea i'd say it will be negative
it won't pass. The financial industry are major campaign contributors for the house and senate. If Obama's past efforts have shown anything, he is a lame duck at getting things passed.
Or, it will be a watered down version of what he proposing so he can save face and say that he did something, when it fact it changes nothing.
