% of time modeling
Just curious, what percent of your time is actually spent modeling as an analyst in IB? assoc in PE?

I work in the M&A group, so we do little pitchbook work. Generally it varies per firm, then per group, then per office, then per deal. It honesltly varies alot. Literally anywhere from 10%-80%.
When I was a first year I had a photoshoot like every weekend, but now it's more like once or twice a month. My VP only does a big shoot every few months or so.
but seriously, it depends. If i'm making a 3-statement from scratch it takes a much higher % of my time than if I'm just filling in the blanks in a DCF/LBO template. Overall, like by month, i'd say 10%, but some days it feels like 100% if it's a rush or doesn't balance.
