Off-cycle entry for full-time analys positions

Hi everybody,

I am enrolled in a Master's program at Imperial College which lasts till end of September 2013. As I want to start my career in IB, I would like to know if there are well-known IBs where you can start working in e.g. October, as most graduate programs are starting in summer 2012.

Differently phrased, is an off-cycle entry for full-time analyst positions possible and if yes, where?

Appreciate your help!

Kind regards, Nick

Yes, it's possible. I worked from September to December as Autumn Intern and then I got the offer 3 months after the end of the internship. It was at a top tier bb. Anyway, banks that offer off-cycles are Nomura, Credit Suisse, Barclays Capital, JP Morgan, Morgan Staney, BNP Paribas, SocGen, Rothschild and probably others that I cannot remember now.

I'm grateful that I have two middle fingers, I only wish I had more.

Most banks to my knowledge don't have dedicated off-cycle full time programs, at least in the U.S. However, off-cycle recruiting for IB will overwhelming come in the form of immediate, need based hiring. Most these aren't typically posted to the public and are done through networks or head-hunters in some instances. This is where I'd start.

So, if you are offered an off-cycle internship through that network, do you have any possibilities to get a FT offer? I have a FT job now (which I don't like) and have been offered to participate in the recruiting process foa an off-cycle internship in a BB. Am I wasting my time?

Really all the firms you have an interest in have will have some form of off-cycle recruiting. A lot can (and does) happen between now and when analyst programs begin......as a person who got in through off-cycle (not only for IB, but a lot of other roles), it can be done and not as hectic given the competition during this time (to a degree).......

It's pretty difficult. I got offered a job when i graduated that eventually was rescinded for reasons outside my control and while I got some interviews in september, it was markedly more difficult and I was unable to land an offer.

In-cycle, I got several offers before graduation.
