Offers Decision Help

Hey all,

Longtime lurker, love the site. Anyways, non target graduating in 2015 and deciding between BMO and CIT offers. BMO is IBD generalist, CIT offer is either for TMT industry (what they call it) or Financial Sponsors.

Long term goal is buyside, HF / PE (like every damn kid here)

Would appreciate any input on:

-How easy it is to lateral to research or IB at a BB or EB?
-B school options
-Assuming PE/HF recruiting is nonexistent

Thanks

BMO Chicago or BMO NY?

I worked at BMO in NY for Consumer & Retail group for 4 years and then lateraled to a European bank. Lateral moves at analyst level are rare given the 2- to 3-year commitment. From observation, in terms of b-school placement, BMO Chicago does well at Booth / Kellogg and BMO NY does well at Columbia.

I would avoid CIT - more commercial banking than IB.

BMO. Like above said, CIT is like MM lender/BDC stuff (I think)
