OFFICIAL IB PRESTIGE RANKINGS (MAY 2023)

Hey lads, I've been seeing lots of fake news and troll posts going around about the prestige of banks on Wall Street. Let me set the record straight. Unlike the many high schoolers on this site, I am an Official Wall Street Insider at a top-tier bank. And based on my extensive conversations with my elite group of incoming summer analysts, we've come up with the definitive list of the banks, so yall biches can stop guessing and start worshipping:

Tier 1A:

  • Goldman Sachs - Aka the Goldman God himself, DJ Solomon, will personally bless you with riches if you manage to land an offer here (like myself)
  • J.P. Morgan - When you're so big, you're practically a bank holding company.
  • Morgan Stanley - If you can't hack it at GS or JPM, this is your backup option.
  • (all EBs follow here)

Tier 1B:

  • Citi - Culture remnant of the 80s bygone era
  • Barclays - Like the British version of Citi, but with better accents.
  • Bank of America - Solid bank, but people guess you're a teller.

Tier 1C:

  • Deutsche Bank - German efficiency at its finest.
  • UBS - If you're looking for a bank that's always slightly confused, UBS is your pick.

Tier 2:

  • RBC Capital Markets - Who?
  • Nomura - See RBC Capital Markets.
  • Jefferies - Jefferies who? Just kidding, they're actually pretty good. For a regional bank
  • Rothschild - If you're looking for a bank that sounds like it belongs in a James Bond movie, Rothschild is it.
  • Houlihan Lokey - The place where everyone's a math genius, but no one knows how to have fun.

Tier 3:

  • Cowen - What, you've never heard of Cowen? You must not be from the Midwest.
  • Piper Sandler - When you want to work at a bank that sounds like a law firm.
  • Wells Fargo - The perfect place for people who don't want to work too hard, but still want to pretend like they work in banking.
  • Guggenheim - They might be known for their art collection, but they're also an investment bank. Who knew?

Tier 4:

  • Stifel - That bank sounds like a sneeze.
  • Solomon Partners - You might not know what they do, but they'll still make you feel important.
  • Raymond James - Sorry, I fell asleep just thinking about this one.
