Ok to refer someone as an incoming analyst?

I’m currently an incoming analyst in a BB and I reached out to my HR person who I have a good relationship with about possibly connecting with a friend. Worried that I might’ve acted unprofessionally given that I haven’t even started yet. Thoughts?

I would advise against referring someone before working there. You don’t have the pull for that. When the referral comes thru and speaks to an MD in the interview he’s gonna be like what, “Oh ya (name) the incoming analyst referred me” the MD is won’t give a flying fuck about you (If he’s a hardo typical MD) but if he’s a good guy and respects you then he might respect your buddy.

Either way it’s a slippery slope and I’d wait to have worked there for at least 6 months (low end) to a year to do that
