Onboarding and Study Abroad

Hey all, having a bit of a dilemma here. When I recruited and applied for my firm (BB), I told them that I would be studying abroad in my Junior spring. Now, I am currently in onboarding, and the protocol says that I need to get a fingerprint done for the background check. I am not in the U.S. and can't get one here. Do you think they would let it slide for now until I arrive? I don't want to lose my SA over something dumb like this.

Hey man, so I actually haven't really checked WSO since then, but saw that you asked and I can let you know what happened...

I spoke with the team I would be joining, and they said they definitely didn't want me buying a plane ticket just to get this done, but did say that there couldn't be a guarantee that I could start on time if I didn't... they then recommended that I would thus attend orientation/training over zoom recordings or something, and maybe be able to start on the desk in the second week (the internship was 9 weeks, where the first week was firmwide orientation/training and the second week was when the "actual" internship would start). So, in ideal circumstances, I would just watch the training recordings and hopefully be able to show up by the first week on the desk.

I was planning on maybe doing that, but I ended up going back home to the US anyway for around a week and getting it done in April. So I was able to complete my study abroad and be at the internship on time.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions, and I'd be glad to dm :)
