Opinion on Gleacher Shacklock (London)?
What are people’s opinions of Gleacher Shacklock? I have a grad offer there for M&A and SSG (Special Situations). Can’t say I heard of it before last year so was wondering what the perception of the firm was like as it’s pretty small.
Thank you!
Would take a BB/EB over it. Midmarket deals only though SSG is respected.
Many have lateraled from Gleacher to bigger places so that should not be a problem. Good buyside exits would be tough as the name and deal experience would hold you back compared to BB/EB
Gleacher places well into UK MM funds
Gleacher is a very good MM firm - therefore placing well into UK LMM and MM PE at best. Heard they didn't convert many interns this year as they are really worried about Brexit as a UK focused firm. Culture is good, and you could move to EBs/BBs quite easily.
The SSG is pretty good and there is some cool stuff covered by the M&A team every now and then ie GKN takeover by Melrose.
Agree on everything, but Gleacher to Top BBs/EBs is not that simple imo
Maybe not top BBs/EBs but to more reputable ones for sure.
Hi so I don’t care about buy-side exits - I just want to really work in M&A or Restructuring going forward as I love it... with this in mind, would Gleacher Shacklock be a good place to start career?
