PAM Analyst to IBD

Hi all,

So I've secured an intern position with a major Oil & Gas company in their Planning and Appraisal Management team and I was hoping I could use this internship to leverage into IBD but first off can someone tell me what that is exactly?

I applied to this company under the 'Finance' banner and this was the division they placed me in. Does it even have anything to do with finance? I want to get your opinions before I sign the dotted line.

I'll have a chat with HR but I wanted to see if someone has had a first hand experience working in PAM and then shifting to IBD.
